AIIMS, Safdarjung Hospital to get 1700 & 1300 new beds respectively

New Delhi: The government has decided to add 1,700 new beds to the existing capacity of AIIMS New Delhi and 1,300 new beds to the capacity of Safdarjung Hospital, Union Health Minister J P Nadda informed the Lok Sabha on Friday.

The health minister further said that the bed capacities of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and Lady Hardinge Medical College will also be increased by 38 percent and 35 percent respectively, reports India Today.

According to the minister, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Safdarjung Hospital receive more than 9,000 OPD patients each daily and RML Hospital receive around 5,000 such patients a day.
