Delhi High Court asks authorities why no surgeries in G B Pant Hospital

New Delhi: Delhi High Court on Wednesday sought responses of the union health ministry, Delhi government’s health department and Delhi Medical Council (DMC) on a public interest litigation (PIL) alleging that operations have not been carried out at G B Pant Hospital for nearly a month due to some “disputes” between doctors.

In a petition filed before the court, D N Srivastava claimed that operations have not been carried out in the government hospital since April 6 after some dispute arose between the cardiothoracic and vascular surgery (CTVS) department and the anaesthesia department which led to a situation where the consultants of the anaesthesia department refused to give anaesthesia to patients in the hospital, reports ToI.
