Safdarjung Hospital doctors go on strike demanding greater security

New Delhi: A group of resident doctors at Safdarjung Hospital here went on strike on Wednesday evening after one of their colleagues was allegedly beaten up by the attendants of a patient at the emergency ward who wanted their patient to be examined ahead of others.

The striking doctors demanded that security should be beefed up in the hospital in the wake of such incidents, reports India Today.

“Last Friday, a female junior resident doctor was allegedly manhandled by the attendants of a patient at the paediatric ward. We demand an FIR to be lodged and the security to be increased in the hospital,” one of the striking doctors has been quoted as saying.
